ROMANTIC FOREST WEDDING // INSPIRATIONAL SHOOT // BURLAP AND BELLS – BLACK RIVER FALLS, WI

Burlap and Bells Forest Wedding Inspiration Shoot Meghan Lee Harris Destination Wedding Photographer

Inspiration took over the moment I came across this unique new venue, Burlap and Bells, in Black River Falls, WI. I had never seen anything like it before, with the wooden pews and the arbor nestled in between the pines. A ceremony location completely tucked away in its own little quiet world, and created for couples looking for a more intimate, natural, out-of-the-ordinary approach. A few months ago when I began this journey into wedding photography, I knew I wanted to build my brand around this idea. That your wedding day doesn’t have to fit the iconic wedding we all know, but instead should be filled with what is meaningful and makes sense for you. Not everyone’s story fits the same genre and I love couples who push the envelope and dare to be a little different 😉

When it came down to the vision for this shoot, I wanted to mix things up and give people something they may not have seen before. A “woodland” or “boho” theme might have made sense here (given the woods and nature), but I wanted to show brides that it’s okay to go your own way. I began dreaming up the idea of “modern meets woodsy.” For the trendy bride who still just loves keepin’ it real. Who has a set vision, values individuality, and runs with her creativity. But at the same time does not lose sight of the little things, and plans a meaningful day surrounded by her partner and their closest loved ones in a simple, intimate setting.

When the ladies of Elevate Events got on board to help collaborate and hone the styling/concept, I knew this was going to be a show-stopper (seriously these girls know what they’re doing!) They helped recruit an INCREDIBLE team of vendors to help make this vision come to life. Amanda, custom dress designer of Minkmaids, had the perfect shade of blue gown from her “Something Blue” collection. It was beautifully paired with the long cathedral veil by Vera’s House of Bridals. Renee of Madison Wedding Flowers nailed Pantone’s color of the year with all the greenery in the flower crown, arbor installation, centerpieces, and bouquet. Angela of Saffron Avenue brought in the romance with her hand-lettered calligraphy, supplying a gorgeous watercolor invitation suite, candles, scroll, and marble menus. Kara of Mosaic Salon made sure our bride was woodsy glam, and Alyssa & Anna Fine Jewelry created the most stunning ring for us to feature. Nedrebo’s had our groom looking dapper in their navy blue Michael Kors suit. To Di For Bakery graciously provided a delicious cake! And A La Crate Vintage Rentals supplied their brand new whitewashed table and gray ceramic vases, with chairs provided by Event Essentials. My friends Chloe & Greg graciously agreed to be models and “get married” again! And lastly Burlap and Bells gave us the perfect woodsy setting and backdrop for the shoot. So much appreciation to all who contributed! Hope you love!
