While taking our road trip out to the Canadian Rockies, we had the privilege of meeting up with fellow vacationers Amanda & Joe! Turns out they are this sweet travel loving couple from Spokane WA, and like us, had also chosen Banff National Park to celebrate their marriage anniversary (going on 7 years!) Joe is a pilot in the air force and Amanda is a photographer herself recently dabbling into the wedding world. They hadn’t gotten photos taken together since their own wedding day, so I couldn’t wait to give them some updated photos and help document this new stage in their lives.

We both quickly learned that Banff is crazzzzy with tourists especially the months of July and August. While our plan was originally to do a session at the iconic spots like Morraine Lake and Lake Louise, we decided on a spot away from the crowds that still offered the beauty of the mountains and crystal clear lakes. Alex and I had been camping near Lake Minnewanka and I thought dang, we could just do the session here! Luckily when we were comparing our travel notes, Joe and Amanda were feeling the same way and we ended up having SUCH an amazing time wandering around this more quiet and secluded lake with them. Sometimes while planning sessions out, location becomes the heavy focus. But truth is – when your love is THIS easy and carefree like Amanda and Joes, we could literally shoot anywhere and the photos would be GORGEOUS! But also…these mountains don’t hurt the eyes.
