Off season means finally getting to do the other part of my job that I love so much, SHARING weddings! It’s safe to say the past two years have been a whirlwind for the wedding industry, and so forgive me that I’ve gotten a bitttttt behind on blogging! But while redoing my website recently I realized that I had not yet blogged Haley & Brad’s wedding from summer 2020 and couldn’t help but take a moment to share it with you today!

Beside it being an absolute sauna outside the day was incredible!! (but seriously, my lenses fogged up for the first time EVER – the humidity this day was no joke!) Thankfully Jillian Niemann was on deck for hair/makeup and kept Haley and the girls looking FLAWLESS all day long. Haley’s classic Sophia Tolli gown from Fifi’s Bridal was simply stunning, and paired elegantly with her ivory bouquet from florist Petals ‘n’ Bloom. Their venue Grand Geneva was situated on top of a golf course looking down at a small lake and it created such a heavenly backdrop for photos. I’m in love anytime there’s an illusion of being in the rolling hills and having different textures to play around with (in Wisconsin we take it wherever we can find it ;)!) After their sweet first look moment down by the lake, we took the golf cart around to meet back up with their party for photos at the top of the hill! The energy was high and no one fainted from  heat exhaustion! Woot!

Due to 2020 Covid times, they switched up their Fiji honeymoon for a mix of some national bucket list spots: the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, & Lake Tahoe to which I jotted down some Tetons hikes I still need to check out! From standing next to eachother with different dates during high school homecoming (hilarious photo to prove it!), to reconnecting on the bus ride back to college after Thanksgiving break their freshman year, to then standing next to eachother at the altar…these two happily said I do! Haley & Brad, you guys make such an adorable couple and it was such a joy to photograph your love! Enjoy!

Something about fall weddings in Wisconsin. The weather is JUST right for a few weeks of the year, and Alyssa and Brandon were lucky with one of those wedding days! I knew after meeting them for their engagement session and loving all their outfit choices that their day was going to have TONS of style. Alyssa’s slinky low back dress, the peach and apricot toned florals, Brandon’s white and black tux. They chose to be married at The Atrium MKE, a unique loft setting with the most lush, garden setting up top (and sexy moodier vibe below, perfect for their romantic candlelit ceremony & dinner!) With the sun setting earlier, we were able to end our time with them in pitch black sky for one of my favorite sparkler exits! I’ve been a bit behind on blogging, but with November coming to an end…I knew I couldn’t go another fall season without sharing this one with you!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Enjoy!

Hard to believe Christine & Mykal were already married TWO years ago on 9.19.19 at Hartman Creek State Park! Before elopements and small weddings in local parks became the “new norm”, let’s just say these two were ahead of the trends! 😛

Christine is Alex’s cousin and I knew Mykal from school, so we were SO excited not only when they started dating, but also when we found out they were getting married and they asked us to photograph it! We loved being a part of this journey with them, and are so proud they ultimately decided to stay true to themselves and what they wanted out of their wedding day, which was something much more simple, low-fuss, raw, organic, and a day that focused on their commitment to one another surrounded by their very closest people.

They chose Hartman Creek State Park, Mykal’s favorite camping spot as a kid. Tall pines, teepees, meadows, a boho bride’s dream. Christine looked like a forest queen with her classic low bun and overflowing (!!) bouquet. They exchanged vows as the sun set behind the big oak tree, a branch hung perfectly down & served as natural greenery above their wooden arbor. The rain held off and we actually got the glowing sunset ceremony these two had wished for.

All around such a perfect day & I am so excited for them as they celebrate 2 years of marriage and a newborn on the way very soon!

LOVE YOU GUYS!! ♡ Happy anniversary!

Emily and Rudy had postponed their early summer wedding in Lake Geneva in hopes that they’d be able to celebrate as planned at their venue come August. However, with the conditions still staying relatively the same they decided that instead of postponing until 2021 that becoming husband and wife was ultimately most important.

We met Emily at the Geneva Inn where she and the girls were getting ready prior to making their way to the cabin. Then together with 15 of their family and friends, they were married on Rudy’s family’s land. A secluded intimate setting, they exchanged vows under the big tree by the pond, and later enjoyed chef-prepared hor d’oeuvres and cocktails on the outdoor patio, a perfect for setting up an “al fresco” styled dinner. A long harvest table was decorated with a lush greenery eucalyptus runner on top of white linens and an abundance of pillar candles helped provide a cozy ambiance come twilight. They and their guests danced the night away underneath the tealights. And although in the end it was not the wedding day they had initially envisioned, seeing the joy expressed all day long, made it all feel so right.

Loved this down-to-earth couple and how easily they wore their hearts and emotions on their sleeves. It made photographing the day such a joy! Congratulations Rudy & Emily, and thank you for inviting us in to your intimate & stunning wedding day!

And without further adieux, I present you the backyard wedding of my dreams: 🙂

Katie & Zach’s wedding day was nothing short of romantic, choosing three spectacular venues in the Delafield area. Beginning with getting ready at the historic Delafield Hotel, followed by the architectural charm of Noble Victory Memorial Chapel and grounds at St. John’s Northwestern Academies. Later they celebrated with loved ones at the picturesque Chenequa Country Club, overlooking the same lake Katie grew up, during our sunset photos Katie excitedly pointed out their home directly across the lake. Loved ones’ speeches carried the way through their plated dinner, and Katie and Zach did not have a lack of kind words about them – they are simply adored by all their family and friends, as is anyone who has the privilege of coming across their path!

Their story of meeting was love at first swipe! After visiting his brother in San Francisco, Zach was patiently waiting at the airport for his flight back home to Nebraska when he first met Katie. It was here that they buzzed into each other’s lives. Although Katie’s life was in Minnesota and Zach was finishing his doctorate in Nebraska, they endured the distance. They spent long weekends together and short ones apart, but made sure that the weekends apart to still binge-watch shows “together”.

Many of their dating days involved long drives back and forth from Nebraska to Minnesota , even during brutal midwest winters, but Zach says “falling in love with Katie was the easiest thing I’ve ever done.” And with the help of one of Katie’s best friends, and with all their closest friends present on the shores of Lake Minnetonka, Zach decided to ask Katie to marry him.

Katie Zach I am so happy our paths crossed and thank you for allowing us to be a part of your gorgeous day! Enjoy their highlights!
