I'm Meghan. And behind the lens I am a wife to my husband Alex (also my wedding assistant and second shooter!), dog mom to the sweetest boys, and travel enthusiast. I am most likely planning our next road trip or overseas destination!
Inspired by a one-month road trip out west - where we lived and slept in nothing but a van, we decided to make the leap to live tiny on wheels for one year straight! Although we now are settled into that domesticated life, we still love to hit the road anytime adventure calls.

I'm an even mix of a homebody and adventure-seeker. I love a good backyard hang after work with Alex and the dogs, tending to the garden, cooking & cozying up together to find a show at night. On free days I love to get out and about, whether that's exploring a new cafe, a yoga class, morning hike, getting lost in an antique store, connecting with friends at a winery, or a day trip somewhere. But even just a simple stroll through the local farmer's market does wonders for my soul!
I always love to ask people what their favorite trip near or far is, because I feel like you can learn so much about someone through travel. Laid back on the beach with a book, or wandering all over Europe. If I had to choose, it would be the time we spent 10 days in a campervan around Iceland spontaneously hopping from waterfall to waterfall, volcanos to blue lagoons, or more recently, our brief but romantic 4 days spent in Paris (I don't think our hearts ever left, it's been over a year and we still can't stop talking about it!) Tapping into the spontaneous adventure or romantic dreamer sides in me is what makes me feel most alive (and also why I love photographing weddings)!
Throughout our travels, I've developed a passion and eye for seeking the unique beauty in all types of environments. Learning how to maximize locations and look for the best angles and light and compositions. Combining the romance of an excited newly engaged or married couple as my subjects, and the spontaneous nature of every human and event being unique, nothing brings me more joy than the art of capturing the essence of *you* in the most beautiful, joy-filled way.
Socially, I’m laid back, but I have a serious Type A work mentality. I am detail-oriented and LOVE going above and beyond to make other people happy and feel at ease, especially on their most important day! I am so genuinely excited for you and the beginning of your new journey. Through planning my own wedding I found I truly love the wedding industry, and all the joy, beauty, and love that surrounds it!

I fell in love with weddings while actually planning my *own* back in 2015-2016, and getting lost in the joy of the creative process! It had re-sparked my passion for art, design, creativity that somehow became buried throughout my adult years.
None of my immediate family or friends had gotten married yet, and I was busy going to school and had other interests so I hadn't seen a wedding album, gallery, blog, or magazine of any sorts other than my parent's album from the 80s. So you can imagine my surprise and inspiration when I saw that that weddings were no longer cookie cutter. People were getting married outside! They were infusing personal details! The style of photography itself had modernized so much and it was refreshing! I became a little (majorly) obsessed with turning my wedding into my one grand adult creative project :):) Pinterest & Michael's craft store & bridal magazines became my new best friends and I was truly in the thick of my DIY bride era, if I wasn't painting calligraphy signs I was in the garage spray painting something white.
But shortly after our wedding, I now felt this undeniable creative void. What would be my next creative project? The wedding planning was giving me so much daily joy and newfound purpose but in a flash it was over. And also the wedding industry in general was so filled with love and light and beauty and romance. I wanted to stay in that headspace! I loved all the vendors we worked with and it felt so sad to let it all be in the past. We had a 2.5 year engagement which should have drained me, but I wanted to keep the wedding industry involvement going longer.
Throughout my planning, I got lost in this new lighter, brighter, modern style of photography where colors seemed true yet more dreamlike at the same time. On our honeymoon, I remember thinking, how cool would it be if I could take photos like the ones that inspired me, and be brave enough to be a wedding photographer? And what exciting people and places would I meet and where would the adventure take me? Within the next month, I ended up using our wedding gift money to buy a DSLR camera (thanks to my always supporting husband who has been my cheerleader since day one and encourages me to follow my curiosity).
By 2018, two summers after our wedding, I was now a full-time wedding photographer and we had both left our jobs in corporate America. My husband ended up joining me as my assistant photographer, and we spent our first summer shooting weddings all over the state of Wisconsin, and spent our first few winter off-seasons on various road trips out west, and eventually overseas, finally getting to see more of this beautiful world. I used my corner of the internet to share bits of weddings, travel, gardening, and our personal life journey every step of the way. Next year we'll be entering our 9th season. Most days I have to pinch myself because it has become so much more than I ever dreamed initially.
Looking back, I kind of did everything backwards. I wasn't a skilled photographer who found themselves in weddings. I was first and foremost a lover of weddings who found themselves wanting to narrow in on wedding photography. And I never looked back!
I've always been a romantic at heart and there's something so exciting about being a part of one of the most special and high vibrational days of someone's life, and getting to capture those moments and details for them to hold on to forever. There is nothing more beautiful than two people in love, and then when you combine the candid emotions of the day, the loving energy and support from friends and family, AND all the carefully curated and beautiful details that go into a wedding day!?!?! There's absolutely nothing else I'd rather experience and be a part of. <3

While working with me, you can expect that same love of care and detail. I strive to create effortless, in-the-moment imagery that will be timeless years from now as opposed to a posed shot list. I will subtly guide you into those portrait moments that appear effortless and joy-filled, while seeking out all the micro moments along the way. The way you look at each other, the way you laugh, the way you hold hands as you walk. The lace of your dress, the bow of your shoe, their ring hand around your waist. I understand a lot of investment goes into this one-of-a kind day, and it is my goal to ensure no detail goes unnoticed, and that every planning choice, and moment is preserved in the finest of ways.
Nothing quite beats a classic fairytale romance (read: Audrey Hepburn & Gregory Peck in Roman Holiday) and I love couples who lean in and fully embrace their romantic sides on their wedding day. This can be shown in the most subtle of ways, even just by reaching for the other's hand, or glancing at them during special moments. Choosing to be in each other's company throughout the day. Anytime both partners are being in connection to each other, these are the sweet, little things that the camera loves to notice. I love working with couples who enjoy the finer things. Beautiful calligraphy, old world inspiration, fine art, the guest experience, and a great cocktail (or mocktail!) They think freely and become visionaries for their own day. They intentionally choose what is most meaningful and expressive of them, and as a result, their wedding day and final gallery is a true depiction of their unique relationship.
