Amy and Andrew scheduled their session with me far in advance, but like a wedding day, you can never really predict the weather. The hours leading up were dreary, cold, and rainy, but these two weren’t about to let it ruin their day! We met at High Cliff State Park, took out some umbrellas and began hiking our way through the park, stopping here and there at the pretty backdrops and fall colors. Amy and Andrew were stealing kisses the entire time, never once seeming to notice it was raining or that they were getting completely drenched! As we were heading back to do an outfit change I mentioned since they were all wet anyway, we could possibly get some shots in the lake. I was expecting them to think I was crazy (it was freakin’ cooold!) but their eyes lit up and off to our next adventure we went. When we arrived at the beach it had actually stopped raining! They took off their shoes and walked out in the water just in time for the BRIGHTEST sunset I may have ever seen. This session was SO raw, yet romantic. I joked that I hoped they truly wanted “natural” photos cause that’s what they were gonna get! 😉 Hopefully next time I see them they’ll luck out with a bit more sun at Lake Orchard Farm Retreat, but then again rain looks pretttty dang good with these two. If you’re worried about rain on your wedding day, I hope you’ll see just why I have learned to actually LOVE rainy days. Grab a blanket and some tea and enjoy scrolling through the rainy romance!
